an English Country Garden

Hilmarton | Wiltshire

This garden was all about the sun room. For that special outdoor room, a new terrace was designed to bridge the outdoor to the indoor. For complete garden harmony, a palette of soft pinks, purple, lime and silvers were introduced linking the existing planting & surroundings, with the beautifully designed interiors of the property. The overall desired style was traditional English Country Garden.

Fragrance was an important criteria in the selection of roses, which included; Comte De Chambord, Gentle Hermione, Desdemona and Gertrude Jekyll. Scent and colour drifts through the perennial planting; Nepeta Walkers Low, Papaver orientale ‘Pattys Plum, Phlox paniculata ‘Fujiyama’ and ‘Blue Paradise’, Astrantia ‘Shaggy’, Scabiosa ‘Perfecta Alba’ and Verbena bonariensis.
